Randy Quaid, are you kidding me?

I mean, just because your agents didn't work a good back-end deal (no pun intended) for your work in Brokeback Mountain, you NOW want to sue for $10M in damages?

Quaid said in the lawsuit that he originally was approached in 2004 by director Ang Lee, who told him, "We can't pay anything, we have very little money, everyone is making a sacrifice to make this film." Quaid charged in the lawsuit that he was the victim of a "movie laundering" scheme.
Look, every time you do a low budget feature film (and yes, a film like Brokeback Mountain, shot for around $15M, IS considered a low budget indie, EVEN IF a studio backs it), it is the job of your AGENT to be sure you have points on the back-end in case the film gets wide release (good lord with the double entendres), especially when you work below quote on the project.

Sue your agent. Not the filmmakers.

Not a mild opinion there;)

I rolled my eyes when I heard about this. Mr. Quaid obviously needs to have words with his agent.

Randy Quiad is such a douche I can't be bothered to spell his name correctly.

IN EXACTLY ONE WEEK, ONE HOUR, AND TWENTY MINUTES, WE WILL BE MEETING IN PERSON!

I know!!!! Erik, I swear, I don't think I have been this giddy-excited-bouncing-up-and-down-happy since around December 1977 (y'know, the last Christmas I believed in Santa Claus).

Man, oh man, oh man! I am sooooooooooo excited!

And yeah, Randy Quaid is just hoping they'll settle for more than what I'm SURE they offered him, when he went back and said, "Hey, guys, now that the movie's a hit, can I make some bonus money?" You KNOW they offered him like a hundred grand as a thank you and he scoffed and said, "I can get $10M, punks!"

Yeah, right, Randy. Good luck with that. And, y'know... good luck getting cast in an indie film again. Since everyone will be SO EAGER to work with someone who says YES to working below quote and then turns around and SUES. Nice.

Oh, okay, so the point of this comment (besides taking a break from working on a column) is to say... YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY I'll have to be finished with my column by this time next week because I'll be all Pretty-in-Pink trying on my new outfit to hurry up and get to prom to meet my NBFF in the FLESH!!!!!!!

Ack! Yay!
