ISO Black Boots
*sigh*
It should be so simple.
I just want to buy a decent pair of black boots with a 2" heel and square toe to replace the decent pair of black boots with a 2" heel and square toe that I've worn out.
(Long-time readers of the BonBlogs will recall I experienced a similar level of frustration when ISO Black Strappy Sandals.)
*sigh*
My momma taught me to buy ten of anything I found that fit and I fell in love with (see: my dozen black cami tank tops), but somehow I never manage to do that with footwear.
And here I am, having run all over town over the course of several days, just trying to find a damn pair of black boots...
...that aren't ridiculous.
...or flats.
...or... *shudder*
Just want a good ol' pair of boots to wear with my jeans. And I don't want to stand on stilts. Or directly on the floor. Or on a streetcorner.
*sigh*
Note: In case there is any doubt, only the first two options pictured above are actually acceptable. If only they were actually out there.

I feel your pain. I would love a pair of black boots like that first picture. One of the perils of being a short person though is that the thickest part of my calf isn't in the right place so I've yet to find a pair that really fits correctly. I have given up though, because there's really only so many frustrating trips to the mall that I can deal with. But I do have a pair of Nine West boots that I hope will last forever--they probably come up mid-calf so they're really only good w/ pants, but they make me tall & are waaaaay comfortable. If I'm giving a presentation for work, you can bet I'm wearing them. :-)

I feel your pain.
I'm sure you already checked out Shoe Warehouse, or whatever that place in Santa Monica on Wilshire is called. I've had strangely good luck there, but Perfect Boot, I dunno.
Zappos is good, too. I plugged in your stats and found these:

But the real squared-toe thing ain't in this year. Maybe you could get some placeholder boots?

Ohhhh, I LOVE the lace-ups in the fourth picture! SO CUTE! Boots are amazingly difficult. I'll keep my eyes peeled. :)

Try the Bass Outlet nearest you... I bought a pair of great brown square-toe boots with a reasonable 2" thick, square heel on them.

Ebay. Seriously. For the slightly out of date but still brand new - and a bargain to boot. Heh heh.
