Concert Meme
Woke up to find this meme tagged on my ass via the ever-cooler Twitter. Thanks, CoCo! (And thanks for the movie recommendation too. Sounds very cool.)
Here is how it works. Copy this list. Leave in the bands you've seen perform live. Delete the ones you haven't and add new ones that you have seen until you reach 25. An asterisk means the previous person had it on their list. Two asterisks means the last two people who did this before you had that band on their list. And so on.
- The B-52s*
- REM (many, many, many times)
- The Pixies (ditto)
- Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians (tritto)
- Pylon
- Love Tractor
- Nine Inch Nails
- Jesus and Mary Chain
- Mr. Crowes Garden (high school version of Black Crowes)
- Bobby McFerrin (actually performed two numbers w/ him)
- Ray Charles
- George Winston
- Grant Lee Buffalo
- ELO
- INXS
- U2
- The Police
- Prince
- The Cure
- New Order
- The Smiths
- Love and Rockets
- Duran Duran (working for 'em)
- Richard Marx (ditto)
- Meat Loaf (tritto)
(Youch! Just one band in common with CoCo??? Wow! I'm surprised!)
Now, you, readerfriends. ;)

Love the random three!
And I *worship* that you've seen Weird Al in concert.
That's SOOO badass!

WEIRD AL WAS MY FIRST CONCERT EVER. SORRY I'M YELLING BUT THAT'S HOW EXCITING IT WAS. I think I was twelve. Pam took me and my best friend at the time Chad. I remember it vividly. He "staged" all of his songs, i.e. when he performed "Like a Surgeon" he was dressed in scrubs and they rolled out a patient on a gurney, etc. It was seriously thrilling.

Okay NOW I'm super jealous!!!!!!!!!!
OMG!!!!! He "staged" the songs??????? I am sooooooooo envious of you!
He's seriously so flippin' brilliant and if I had seen him at the age of 12, I'd be a different woman today, I tell ya.
Wow!

Flippin' brilliant is correct. I remember they showed little videos in between each song because Weird Al literally needed the time to change into each of his costumes. More costume changes than the most costume changey of Madonna or Cher concerts!

Okay, now you've done it!
Does Weird Al still TOUR?
If so, I call PLAY DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I AM TOTALLY SERIOUS!

okay, my list of concerts is way too pathetic to participate in this meme.
but i have to chime in...i've seen weird al in concert TWICE...
once when i was like, twelve - my dad took me and my sister, it was awesome -
and once in about 2002 or 2003 when i bought two tickets for my friend, who is obsessed with him (rightfully) and i thought she'd take her twelve year old son, maybe, but she wanted to take me!
the costume changes are BRIL! as is...he got in major trouble for swiping bits of interviews from the likes of eminem and avril lavigne and cutting in his own fake interview questions that made them sound like douchebags...he legally might have had to stop doing that, but i SAW IT!
(p.s. we have a home video of the three of us and our next door neighbor jamming out to "the brady bunch" circa 1986...i was the totally blase tennis-racket-bass-guitarist in a pink turtleneck and hot pink corduroys! i seriously look about as stoned and as existential as a six year old girl dressed in all pink could look!)

I so totally worship you cool people and your Weird Al experiences!

Okay, pikers.
I may not have *seen* Weird Al.
But one of my songs is *on* a Dr. Demento CD.
You may commence worshipping...
