Skate-A-Round and this week's 365.

Ouch.
I will point out that I am not actually sore from the skating at Skate-A-Round, but only from the falling at Skate-A-Round.
I am a fairly decent skater and don’t fall that often, but you see, I never really learned to stop gracefully. So, when there was a small child falling down in front of me, I sort of stepped over him and *boom*. Wiped out. The second time that I fell was playing Red Light/Green Light and had nothing to do with small kids but everything to do with my lack of stopping skills.

Oh! Announcer guy! If you say the words “green lightning”, you are technically saying the words “green light” so everyone who went was actually right. You aren’t being tricksy. Although, you did spout out some pearls of wisdom over your fancy microphone. For instance, “If you have on skates, you have to put the baby down” is really good advice that many people should heed.

I was actually glad it was pretty crowded becuase it is good to know that kids still go skating. There was one little boy who skated past Scrappy and I and said to her, “This is the best birthday party I have ever been to!” and I could tell he really meant it. Burned pizza? Coke? Wheels? What more could you want in a party at that age. One little girl skated slowly past me in a tiara but stopped to tell me that she was not the birthday girl but Serena told her she could wear the crown. Serena must be very nice.

Two other things I should point out:
1. Skating should always be done in a counter-clockwise direction. Clockwise is wrong and hard.
2. They have Galaga and Ms. Pacman still at the rink, so that is good to know.

On to this weeks pictures!

365 Days 2009 : Days 1 – 3

After watching Carrieoke post her daily self-portraits last year, I had been thinking about doing the picture a day thing for 2009. I decided to join the 365 Days 2009 group on Flickr as well as adding them to my own set.

Even though I will be adding photos to Flickr each day, I am only planning to post them to the blog in weekly batches. Here are Days 1, 2, and 3.
