Things Chip Likes: Zim's Bagel Bakery

First off…

Zim’s closing??? WTF? This is a picture of me waiting for my breakfast this morning.

Waiting for Zim's to open

I am not kidding that this really sucks. I should have known a change in coffee was the first sign and then the reduced hours but I didn’t actually think it would CLOSE.

If Keith hadn’t mentioned it last night, I think I might only have noticed on Saturday morning when it just wouldn’t have been there. I went before work today and got bagels and some cheese grits. I had a pretty good Frat Melt last weekend so I might just let that be my last one. No need to risk having a bad one (which can totally happen). But, I will probably go back for bagels on Friday AM.

I am upset the most because I totally planned on becoming one of those dudes who goes and has breakfast there every single day with all my buds. They look like they have so much fun…

Oh well. It was pretty expensive really so I will probably save a whole lot of money.

That’s all for now.

P.S. If anyone can steal that table with the sexy cheerleader bunnies dancing on bagels…. we totally have a spot for it at our house.

Things Chip Likes: Lily Allen

Once upon a time when I worked at that place where we listened to music all day long, Sheni commented on how he liked this song he kept hearing on KEXP. This song turned out to be (i think) “Smile” from Lily Allen’s first album which had only been released in the UK.

Not letting that stop us, by that evening I had the Alright Still CD and it was put into help desk rotation. She has not actually released a new album since then but I believe one should be out in a month or so.

One thing I like about Lily are her cover songs. She just released her version of the new Britney track, “Womanizer” but I think that her version of the Kook’s “So Naive” is one of my favorite Lily Allen songs.

Scrappy and I saw her in 2007 in Atlanta and she was a bit drunk for the show, including taking drinks from the audience. The live show was fun but really just OK. I would go see her again, though.

Just this morning, Scrappy IM’d me this video:
