This N That

I’m out of my righteous organic green tea from Nepal, so I got online to see if I can order more. This is the site. I emailed them, so hopefully I’ll be able to order quantities for personal use, but we’ll see.
I’m also trying to decide what color of Rowan kidsilk haze to order to make a sweater. The Woolie Ewe won’t be getting more in for months, so Diane and I are thinking of ordering here, the best price I found online. I like Trance, but also Liquer or Pearl. The Marmalade is absolutely gorgeous, and would be lovely for fall, but not my color. The Blushes is gorgeous too, but in fact a really hot pink–darker and more fluorescent than shown on this site–and again not my color. And this project is for me!!!
Took my car in to be serviced yesterday (step one in a long process to get my library card), and while I waited I walked to an Indian restaurant. The food was great, but there was so much, and they just kept bringing it out, and I felt like I had to eat at least some of it to be polite (how southern am I?). Ended up feeling a bit sick, but I think it was mostly a barometric change–the worst kind of headache.
Friday we’re going to the Melting Pot with Christie and Rob and another of their friends. It’s a fondue restaurant! Excited to try it out and visit with them. Such amazing people.
Then Saturday I hope to donate blood and get free breakfast and a T-shirt in exchange. Then Joe and I will find a humane society to donate Hank’s food and other useful items to. I don’t want to see the animals there though because I’ll feel too sad and responsible and guilty. We will probably eventually get a new pet, and then from a humane society, but not now. We might get a dog–Joe has wanted another lab for a long time–and if we got a cat I’d probably get an adult that needs adopting. First we have to get a house, and to get a house, first Joe has to go through a program. His last attempt was a very effective long-term lie. I’m going with him to an appointment Monday. The actual program includes family counseling, so that is good.
I’d like to learn how to post pictures here because I just finished my sister-in-law’s birthday present, and adorable little purse. The purse is lavender, all stockinette with a seed stitch at the top, an extra purl line at the bottom for a smooth crease, and I embroidered a flower pattern onto it. Very cute. I think I’m going to need to line it though, because I was lazy in my embroidery and would stretch long strings across from one end to the other rather than cut and restart, which will inevitably get caught with purse items. And normally making a lining would be easy, except my sewing machine is somewhere in a garage piled to the ceiling with stuff. At least the purse is small, so perhaps I can hand stitch the lining together.
You knitters out there, any advice for starting up a knitting circle? I know only one other knitter in my area, but there’s bound to be many around here. I thought about putting a sign up in a coffee shop, or maybe a library. Can you think of a better way? (Other than already knowing people.)

Ooh, I like Trance a lot. Dewberry is pretty, too. DO you have a picture of the sweater that you are knitting? That purse sounds adorable. Did you have a pattern? I haven’t made a bag yet, but I keep meaning too!
Not sure how to start a knitting circle. I’m trying to figure out how to find one in Atlanta. I made a start, maybe, when Alex and I were eating in Decatur last weekend. He stopped a girl with a tatoo of knitting needles and asked her to show it to me. We started talking and I gave her my email address to email me about her knitting group. She said they hadn’t met in awhile though… So I guess that’s one way to do it!

There are some SnBs in your area already. Check with The Woolie Ewe, but also look here, here, and here. The Melting Pot is awesome, but Simply Fondue is better. They’re both pretentious and pricey, and they’re both great, but that’s just my opinion from my experiences at both. By the way, if you have a Passbook, I believe both of them take the Entertainment card.
