Sowing and Sewing

Here’s a seed pod to a Confederate jasmine I collected from my folks’ house. Anybody want to grow some? I will probably start some in the peat pots, too, so I’ll have seeds or baby vines.

Here’s a close up of the seeds.

I noticed it while out smelling the blooming daphnes and tea olives. Ahhhh. I also spotted an enormous possum, which seemed to be sorely afflicted. I didn’t have my camera but did take a poor photo with my camera. The possum was drinking water out of a toppled bird bath when I first saw it, so I guess it wasn’t suffering from hydrophobia, though maybe fear of water isn’t actually a symptom of rabies. I walked to within ten feet of it. It didn’t seem to see me very well, didn’t run scared, didn’t play dead. It did make itself taller. I let it be. Later I saw it had walked to a spot nearby and was resting on the ground, breathing hard. Mom guessed a dog had gotten to it. Maybe it was just discombobulated because it was still daylight.
Did a little sewing on a skirt. Actually, it’s almost done. Just need to do one more seam around the waist, then hem it. Here’s a picture of the zipper going in. Yes, I am a sloppy seamstress.
