so, dog the bounty hunter went to mexico to hunt down a serial rapist (and max factor cosmetics heir) back in 2003. the good news: they caught him and the guy’s serving a 124-year sentence for his crimes. the bad news: bounty hunting was illegal in mexico at the time. more bad news: he pissed everyone off. in the process, he really pissed off the mexian authorities by refusing to turn the guy over to anyone other than U.S. law enforcement because he suspected they were harboring the fugitive. the FBI was pissed because dog beat ‘em to the punch. so, dog, leland, and tim got arrested and thrown in jail for 10 days before they were bailed out. they could each face up to 8 years in prison for what they’ve done. not just any prison. mexican prison. (yikes!)
so anyway, irony of all ironies, all three bail bondsmen skipped their court date back in puerto villarta. that was 2003. today, U.S. marshalls beat down their door and arrested the three men. now, all three have to sit in the honolulu jail and wait to find out whether they will be extradicted to mexico or not.
so, if i have this straight, the mexicans can’t and/or won’t track down and send a wanted serial rapist back to the U.S. and we’re not pissed? but the U.S. will straight up arrest the guy who arrested the rapist and send him back to mexico just because he skipped bail? *facepalm* i hate to sound like a fox news correspondant, but this is absolutely retarded! he did the right thing!!
