quick! it’s time to get your snow dance supplies in order. whether you need to get your ‘nilla wafers and ice cubes handy, turn your pjs inside out, or hide the spoons under the bed — grab whatever you need and get to it! scrappy needs a snow day, and i need your help!
the strombot prefers the ‘nilla wafer dance where you go outside, spin around three times, chant something goofy, and you look up and smash the wafers above your head. the theory goes, if the ‘nilla wafers hit your face, then the bad weather is coming.
me? i prefer the peter pan method — “i do believe it will snow! i do believe it will snow! i do!” occasionally, i’ll toss in a little snow dance jig for emphasis, but only in times of desperation. (as a kid, i always tried to reserve all my weather-related dancing for rain in order to get out of soccer practice so as not to overdo it.)
need more inspiration? here are some great ideas from kids.
just remember to do your homework…
what are you waiting for? DANCE, MONKEY! DANCE!

art by betsy!
My friend, Betsy, who is an extraordinary folk artist is having a show at Cafe Lisette in Atlanta on Saturday, February 17th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Check out her website “Art by Betsy” when you get a chance to see a broad spectrum of her work (or you can swing by my house to see my recent purchase titled “Good Tidings”). She also does contract work!

blooms!
one of my christmas cacti (inherited from chip’s grandparents) has burst into full bloom on one side. the other side has several blooms that will probably take another week or two to flourish, but i’m very excited they are not far away. next to this plant, i also have another x-mas cactus plant, and it has suddenly started to shoot out blooms, as well! very exciting.
my family has had any number of these plants in the past, but never one that bloomed after it was first given to us! i’ve also never seen blooms THIS BIG before. i’m completely amazed. nothing like a few pretty pink blooms to cheer you up after a pretty crappy week.
