birthday cake!

thank you all for all the emails, calls, and facebook posts wishing me a happy birthday. it has been quite a big one – the big 2-6, and it just keeps going. (birthday week, perhaps?) =)

i had a great time in philly celebrating with all the kids and staff at camp. after flying back, i got to celebrate with my mom, aunt, and uncle. (very exciting!) people at work have been very sweet, too. i am planning to continue the festivities at trivia tomorrow night with the “knee deep in the hooplah” crew. (see this cake? yes, there’s about half of it left and i need YOUR help, knee deep-ers! come prepared to eat dessert.)

anyway, thanks for making 25 a great year, and thank you again for the warm wishes and a great start to my 26th.

things at blind kid camp are swell this week. (i’ve posted my pictures on flickr) things move in fits and spurts. before, after, and in between classes, i’m moving at warp speed making sure everything is in good working order. once everything is sufficiently settled, i have about 45 minutes of complete dead time during each class period to read, catch up on things on the “interweb,” and listen to music. i’ve been in the mood to update my album art, but today as i listened along i noticed something strange with my iTunes. (*geek alert*) i have the Lord of the Rings soundtracks on my iTunes, and i came across one of the tracks from The Two Towers (which i wanted to skip – i swear!), and i noticed that this is the album art that was displaying (and i can’t find a way to delete it!):
