because you spynotebook folk are world travelers, we need your help!
where should we go
on our honeymoon?
some things to consider:
- we have 6-7 days available to travel (i.e. not a lot of time to adjust to time changes)
- gas/airline prices are high
- we do not speak other languages well
- we like a good mix of relaxation and fun activities
- we like to sleep indoors, but we like to play outdoors
as the days continue to count down to the big day, chip and i have started talking honeymoon plans. at first, we weren’t sure how much vacation time we would have available after the wedding and had planned to do something small (rent a cabin in the mountains or spend a few days down in savannah or st. simons). now, it looks like we’ll both be able to take a full week off to get away. very exciting, but there’s more! a good friend offered to let us use their time share for our honeymoon for free! in doing so, we have the opportunity to stay anywhere in the world we want so long as we can a) afford to get there, and b) afford to feed and entertain ourselves once we do get there.
my dream was to go to hawaii — play on the beach, meet dog the bounty hunter, hike the beautiful volcanoes, etc., etc. to be honest, it’s really expensive to get there right now, and chip is more inclined to go when we could actually visit with susan & co. (btw – susan, you must either be a saint or one heck of a friend to fly all the out for our flippin’ wedding, because *whoa* those tickets are steep!) so, instead we compromised: go somewhere else for the honeymoon, and chip has promised he’ll take me to hawaii for a nice, long, leisurely trip sometime in the next 5 years. (i’ll be placing a countdown timer in my sidebar ASAP.)
we’ve talked about going to las vegas, somewhere in the caribbean, or maybe hitting up the pacific northwest (san francisco, portland, seattle, etc.). suggestions? anyone? anyone?
