once again, it was a spirited spectacle of spelling bee skills.  the triplets won the top prize for largest donation to the bee – raising a grand total of $1,200!  go triplets (and the internet)! here is a picture of carrieoke accepting their mulligan and prize for the team.

the triplets did really well, overall. they used their mulligan in the fifth round (category: flowers) after misspelling (and mishearing) the word “hellebore”. they ultimately dropped out in the ninth round (category: world capitals) after misspelling kinshasa, the capital of the democratic republic of congo.

the bee lasted nearly two hours with a final rematch between the classic city roller girls and the uga catholic center (“gsypf” – or “gee-see poof” as they wanted to be called).

both teams put up a good fight, but ultimately the saints beat out the sinners for top bee in the hive.
