Several of you have expressed an interest in watching the Classic City Rollergirls compete when you found out I was in the process of trying out. (No, I haven’t made the team… yet…) Anyway, they’re playing their first home bout — dubbed the “Lowcountry Brawl” — this Saturday, June 13th against the High Rollers of Charleston, SC. It is supposed to be a good match, and it’s always a lot of fun for the whole family. (Don’t be fooled — this is not the rollerskating equivalent of wrasslin’! These ladies work their tails off a minimum of 4-6 hours per week; they are hardcore athletes.) Kristy will be rocking it out as bench manager, and I’ll be furiously recording the blocker stats at uber geek speed!
I can sell you an advance ticket ($8), or you can order them online. A portion of the proceeds from “Lowcountry Brawl” will help support HandsOn NE Georgia, the CCRG sponsored charity for the 2009 season.

Adults – $8 in advance / $10 at the door
Children 6 to 10 yrs – $5
Children under 6 – free
