The first Waffle House in Athens, GA was #33 on West Broad. It opened February 16, 1968 and closed April 16, 2000. Thanks to Caroline at Waffle House corporate for this valuable information.<br \/><br \/>The BEST Waffle House in Athens, GA was #48 in Five Points. It opened 10 months later on December 10, 1968 and closed on June 25, 2018. RIP.<br \/><br \/>I also learned that the numbers are when the parcel was purchased, NOT when the store was opened.
