I met more amazing women last night at the knitting group. Wow. WOW! So smart and funny and fun and creative and talented. I’m so thrilled to meet them, and so inspired with ideas! I want to try the purse by High-Energy Jenny, and the shrug Carrie made for her sister, and the sweater Anne Marie is working on, and the multicolor top Mary Jessica is zooming on, and though it is beautiful, I wouldn’t dare attempt Jenna’s incredible throw–I can barely get through a child’s sweater. I was also excited to learn Mary Jessica works at Canopy–I am really tempted to learn to trapeze. I can already ride a unicycle. Now if I can just combine the two, I can open my own one-ring circus! I can’t wait to get my camera cable–hopefully this weekend–so I can start posting pictures of my knit adventures too.
Also, this morning I got a call from the Board of Regents to set up an interview on August 2. This is by far the best-paying job I applied for, and I hear it is a great place to work. I am getting nervous about the interview! I need to read up on how to do it. I need to sound all communications experty. Adding -y to words to make them adjectives will probably not help me there.
Also, I found a yoga class I really enjoyed this morning, the power yoga at the Healing Arts Centre. I’m going to check out the Red Lotus and other places too, but I’m relieved to know there’s a good one out there for me. Hard work, but I feel good.
I think Joe is coming to town today, but he hasn’t called me lately. My brother and his girlfriend were supposed to come but changed their plans. I am looking forward to meeting her soon. Maybe I can visit Savannah if I get ahead on some of this freelance work. Right now I have two projects in my room, one on the way: on civil rights, songbird migrations, and an epistolary confessional novel. Sometimes being a copyeditor is a lot of fun.

YAY! they called! That’s so awesome, Courtney!! You will totally be fabulous at the interview, I just know it.
Yay! Good luck with the job interview. I used to take yoga at the Healing Arts Centre. I’ve never done the power yoga class, but I took classes from Kerry Fulford & she is the absolute best!
First, hooray on the job interview. That’s fantastic. Yay!
I’m so jealous that you got to go to knitting. Waaa… I know I’ll never find another knitting group that good. 🙁
Did you take the power yoga class with Cathy Jackson? She’s so awesome. Well, everyone there is, but I’ve known Cathy since I was seven, so I love her best. You should try Kerry’s class too. And Cathy’s pilates class!
Uh oh, now I feel like I want my old life in Athens back. Why do we keep switching places????
I do find it fascinating that Courtney has plugged into your old life. You should have sold her your house.
If you have time, read “How To Work a Room” by Susan RoAne. You’ll blow ’em away at the interview (of course, you will ANYWAY, but that won’t hurt).
Break a leg!
