Adorable Children and a Finished Knitting Project

I may be biased, but Matera Chasteen is the most beautiful baby in the world. And her hobbies, at seven months, include being happy all the time–when she isn’t sleeping ten hours a night–and eating ribbons.

I saw her, and her parents, and her grandparents, and oodles of aunts and uncles and cousins and second cousins and on and on at the Hollingsworth family Christmas at the fellowship hall in Teamon Baptist Church in Griffin. (Can any more prepositional phrases be added to that sentence? above? in the same paragraph?) They are some of the best, kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet, and I always feel a better person having spent time with them. Also, the food–let me just say Aunt Polly brought turnip greens. Manna.
Then Sunday was Christmas at Brookwood Farm outside of Canton. Again I ate myself silly again, then ate dessert. Then came gift exchange. Here are Santa’s Little Helpers, Sam and Matt Moore.

And here is Sam modeling the sweater vest I finally finished–as gifts were being unwrapped. I planned to make one for Sam and one for Matt. This one was the smaller one, supposed to fit Matt, but it’s really a bit big for Sam. Still, I finished! And they can both wear it eventually. So doesn’t that count as making two?

Matt was very insistent that Austin play Thomas the Train with him. Yes, that’s Austin with a red and blonde goatee!

And while the ether is cooperating, here’s my bathroom floor, tile laid but yet ungrouted.

So many comments I don’t know if I’ll remember them all! First, you did a great job matching the tile with the period of the house. Not that I know anything about it, but it looks like tile that would go in a house of that era.
    How cute are those kids???
Sweater vest–awesome. Still need to find that pattern now that there are so many boy babies floating around that I want to knit for…

The best thing about your new floor (besides the fact that it totally rocks) is that if you scroll the page up and down, the pattern of black tiles dances like crazy and you can make it look like it’s pulsating. This will keep me amused for a while.
