Painting

I have a new neighbor: this adorable gal. I’m hoping once she finishes settling into her house (by tomorrow probably) she’ll help me with art and curtains and other homey touches.

I was pretty exhausted this weekend, so didn’t get much done, but did get a little painting done myself, thanks to this fabulous new tool.

You attach it to the top of a spray paint can and shoot it like a gun. It is less messy and keeps my finger and hand from cramping. (I do a lot of spray painting. As I told Anne Marie, it is my favorite cleaning product.)
With the gun and a little Rustoleum, I transformed this chair . . .

. . . into this one . . .

(Okay, so not exactly that one. That’s another, rustier chair that I sanded and painted. I didn’t get organized in my picture taking, and now it is dark out.)
I also bought some paint to fix up an old nightstand to match the bedroom furniture I bought earlier this year. Will post pictures if it turns out.
There are many exciting possibilities of fun this week–trivia with winners, memorial for Elvis at Blind Pig Tavern, cookout at April’s, Bling performing at Farm–but I don’t know if I will get to make it to most. (I have a freelance job and I’ve been exhausted lately and I still have pet-care rounds and I’m on a painting snit.) Plus I need to have a chicken-coop party sometime before I go on vacation. And before that I need to get a tree dug up. Maybe this Sunday, maybe the next Saturday. Will post as I know more about my schedule. Will anybody come if I promise food and beer? There will be shiny black seats!
