I can’t resist posting a few more flowers. These are foxgloves blooming in my yard, and I love them so. The pinkish-purplish ones I grew from seed last year. The yellow ones I bought at heaven last year, also known as Thyme After Thyme. These tough few survived the drought.

Yellow foxglove
Foxglove, or Digitalis, is a biennial, which is why seeds I started last year are blooming for the first time now. It is also poisonous, except in the right amounts, when it can save a life, because the digoxin affects the heart rate. I find them so romantically beautiful. Which makes sense, in a way. In the way that romance makes no sense. Because what is more romantic than a flower that can start or stop a heart?
