The Idiot Girls' Action Adventure Club

At the recommendation of Big Mike, Amy, and Scooley and a lesser recommendation by Jocelyn, this weekend I read The Idiot Girls’ Action Adventure Club by Laurie Notaro.

It’s a book of essays that seem like things I would write were I not a school teacher worried about repurcusions of students discovering too much about our social lives. Well, that plus my life is actually pretty boring when you get down to it.

The first half of the essays revolve a lot around going out and getting really drunk. Towards the end, Laurie has stopped drinking and has lost some teeth. It somehow makes this kind of life seem oddly appealing to me. Other than I don’t really go out drinking that much anymore and all my teeth seem reasonably OK.

What did you guys who read this think?
