There are two kinds of comic movies. There are the ones that no one denies the coolness: Superman, Spiderman, the first Batman. There are the ones that everyone pretty much thinks suck: Superman IV, the Batman movie with Val Kilmer, and I will throw Daredevil in with this group.

There actually is a third kind which is the kind that nobody knows came from a comic like Ghost World and Road to Perdition.

Trevor and I just saw The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen which is such a great comic series. The movie had all the pieces to make a great movie but it was missing something. I don’t know what it was missing, but it firmly put it in the first group.

Roger Ebert’s review pretty much covers anything I would have to say about this movie.
