Weekend

Being sick but not really sick but just sick enough to feel kind of sucky with a stuffy nose and a general malaise isn’t a good way to spend a weekend when you have stuff to do and people to do it with. But, I spent my weekend that way anyway. Let me recap.
Friday : Hope came over to pick up a laptop for her friend. Kate came over and we went to Taco Stand and then to Canopy to see Allison and Charles in a show. The show was good but I might have to stop going there. You have to get there by 7:30 to get a seat but the show didn’t end up starting until 8:30. I was ready to go home before it even started. Once it started, it was OK and I really liked it. I just wish I hadn’t been sitting in an uncomfortable seat for an hour.
After this, Kate went to see a friend’s house and I went home.
Saturday: I watched some of The O.C. marathon. Then Kirk came to visit for a while and Kate came back over. We ended up going to Spaar’s so Kate and I could eat and Kirk could listen to the Georgia game. After this, Kirk dropped us off and Kate and I went to the dollar movie and saw “Uptown Girls”. Yeah, it was pretty blah. After this we came back and hung out at my house for a while. I think I read a comic and she knitted or something while we watched some TV. Eventually, we went downtown and had dinner at Transmetropolitan and then met up with Tara at the Fab 40 Watt for Gillian Welch. Pretty good crowd considering she played two nights and tickets were $15. After this, we all seemed pretty tired so we went home. I thought about staying out for drinks but tiredness won and I came home, took some cold medicine and some Vitamin C and went to bed.
Sunday: Got some Dunkin’ Donuts pretty early in the AM. Came home and watched a movie called “The Business of Strangers” starring Julia Stiles and Stockard Channing. Sean called and I tried to explain 45 years of Legion of Super-Heroes continuity in a short phone call. It actually amazes me how much comic knowledge I don’t know I have until someone asks me a question. I am going to start writing reviews for CHUD but I have just been too out of it this week to start.
I went to T-Stand around 3:00 and had a burrito and worked on the job description for the person we are going to hire to help me out when Mark leaves. I went to Grady Ave to see how the work on Cash’s apt. was going. Once it is finished, it will look pretty good. Came back home and made it through some more of Quicksilver. I think I wil still be reading it in December.

That pretty much catches y’all up.
