So, we went to the Upstart fest yesterday. I enjoyed Mitch Allan the most with Jem a close second. I might have liked Jem more if the sun hadn’t been particularly awful at that point. Sahara Hotnights started off cool, but all the songs sounded the same to us and they had virtually no interaction with the audience (probably because they don’t speak a lot of English). Auf der Maur was good but it had been a long day at this point and we were tired and had been drinking $4 Gatorades and nothing really was going to rock at this point. But, man, Polyphonic Spree was very strange. We only made it through two songs and then we took off. But, they had a theramin and a harp and 20 people on stage in robes. I think I would like them under different circumstances. You know, different circumstances like if I were in a cult or something like that.
