I like those colors, but I’d want to see them next to the green that’s already in the living room. I’d hesitate with painting the walls orange, but only because of the blue dishwasher the orange that’s already in the bedroom.
Whereas I’d hesitate to paint the walls red. I love red on walls, but it may be too dark for a kitchen. If your dishwasher is blue, then the orange is definitely out. And maybe the red. Can we get another before shot from a different angle? The only appliance I see is the refrigerator.
Well, I think even better, if it’s going to be extreme – then let’s go all the way. It’s time for a trip to the Lowe’s – all new appliances would really accent the walls, if it’s orange walls you want, it’s new appliances you’ll get – think about it, at least I think it sounds exciting, I’ll be happy to help, and we might even be able to upgrade the frier to a built-in. And think of the benefits for your popularity on Monday nights. Stainless? Yep, sounds good to me, when do we start?
Oh yes, the blue is quite nice. And I think it would be cool with the green in the living room. When you buy the paint, my vote is to get the American Tradition brand from Lowe’s. It kicks all kinds of ass.
Yeah, I was envisioning that the blue would be removed from the dishwasher, but it is a nice shade…
The blue walls would be nice (though I still like something warmer for a kitchen), but I’d suggest something light for the cabinets so that the room doesn’t seem too small. And blue and white seems kind of bedroomy to me (maybe because my bedroom is blue & white?). I love blue and yellow. Would pale yellow cabinets be too girly?
And I’m definitely all for stainless appliances. I have a six burner Thermidor stove all picked out.
Blue and pale yellow are some of my favorites. You could have a real Tuscan theme kitchen, especially with a really rich blue and a pale yellow. I can just smell the garlic in olive oil . . .
I’d try to match the dishwasher blue, and mix that with a basic white. Maybe an accent color here and there. Color is great, but too much of it lessens its impact. I’d also recommend the Kmart Martha Stewart colors if you want to save five bucks a can; they only run $15, as opposed to the $20 more usual at Lowe’s & Home Depot.
When I lived on Grady Ave, Kate and I did the Martha Stewart colors. They were really pretty and I have had a soft spot in my heart for them since then. But now, Nickelodeon paint also exists so maybe I should get Slime Green or Rugrats Red or Barf Burger Brown (not actual colors as far as I know).
That hyacinth color y’all used on Grady Ave was gorgeous. And should go nice with the green in the lr.
I had totally forgotten about Barf Burger, but today while editing I read about a character named Alistair and thought of You Can’t Do That on Television.

You can see the dishwasher here:

The blue is really just contact paper or whatever left over from the install but I liked the color so I left it.
The real question is cabinets.
If anyone in Athens would like to come and check it out in person, feel free.
I am leaning more towards the blue right now.
