Summer Begins

So, I went to see “The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants” last night with :Jocelyn: and a whole bunch of 17 year old girls. It didn’t suck anywhere near as much as I thought it would and I ended up liking a good bit of it. But, that will hardly surprise long time readers of the blog.

I explained to Cason at work today that the only way the pants could work is unstable molecules and that they were probably a failed experement by Reed Richards but all I got was a blank stare. The kids today just accept their fiction to readily.

I am watching that “Hit Me Baby One More Time” show right now where pop stars from the 80s come back to sing their hit from the day and then a cover of a popular song. If by any chance bubble gum poptress Tiffany is reading this, I’ll totally go out with you if you’re game. Call me. Really.

I also watched “Dancing with the Stars” and “Beauty and the Geek”. They were just amusing enough for me to watch but not an ounce more. I truly hope we learn the beauties and geeks are totally faking it because if not, dear lord, these girls and boys are very sad.

Some bad news. My cousin Mary Frances went to high school with and was on the same senior trip in Aruba as the girl who disappeared last week. Our school has kids there this week and I told Cason that she was strictly forbidden from going there next year when she graduates.

Closer to home, Tera was in a car accident near Jocelyn’s house yesterday. As far as I know she is fine but totalled her car and did have a concussion yesterday. Her Dad came and took her back home so I haven’t really seen or talked (much) to her. We’re glad she’s OK.

Oh yeah, it took me three days to get the Tivo at Jocelyn’s working (ReplayTV is sooo much better IMHO). Her friend gave it to her with all her information still on it and when I looked at the following screen I thought that I could not have picked better themes for an Anti-Jocelyn if I had been trying to:

I have to finish authoring the DVD of my sister’s wedding and then go to bed.

    1. LOVE “Beauty and the Geek.” Seriously.

    2. *shudder* at that TiVo screen. Ugh! Poor Jocelyn.
