An Awesome End of Summer

Woke up a little late for work so breakfast consisted of a Coke Zero from the gas station. I couldn’t bring myself to actually eat anything from there because all the gas stations near me are pretty sketch. Did y’all know that Coke Zero is the real coke formula dietized and diet coke is really dietized new coke? Now ya do.

Got to work to discover that we had a meeting at 9:00 that most of us forgot about. But after that it was smooth sailing. Shawn, Jenny, Kate, Flivver, Tinsley and I had an end of summer bash consisting almost entirely of lunch at Schlotzky’s since we couldn’t think of anywhere else. Then we had a bit of cake and then Shawn and I worked until about 5:40.

I came home to find Kate already in my house reading magazines. She was coming with me, my Mom, and Keith to look at bikes. As you all know, I am a slave to peer pressure and all the cool kids have new bikes so I had to have one also. So we go to the bike place and I pick out a Jamis Citizen that I liked and Keith told me he was going to buy it for me. I told him he certainly didn’t have to but they said Lori got a whole wedding and I deserved something. Since I had seen the bill from the Country Club for the reception, I said heck yeah I deserve a bike. Well, I think I actually said thank you. My mom bought me a lock, helmet, and water bottle so I am set!

Kate and I took Scooley out to the Grill for dinner. Then we walked around downtown and stopped into Hot Corner Coffee which was academytastic. Susan decided she wanted to see some movie called “Skeleton Key” and so we did but as most of you know, if I go to a movie after 7:45, just expect me to go to sleep. The parts I saw seemd pretty good. Now I am home.

I know Bonnie and Kate have been complaining about Mercury Retrograde but I’ve gotten a free new bike, a free 50″ television, and an almost-girlfriend so I say let the retrograding continue. (I am ignoring the 164 late laptops that kids will be complaining about come Monday. Let me harbor my illusions of happiness for at least the weekend).

G’night.

Maybe the late laptops will show up on Monday, since that’s when Mercury goes direct.

Enjoy the bike, the TV, and the almost-girlfriend. Always wear a helmet. And get a cute little bell for the handlebars if you think about it. Yes, this advice applies to all of the cool new things you got. 😉

    Happy end of summer!

Glad your end of summer was so good! I’ve still got four more weeks–hee hee! No new bike or TV though. Or almost-girlfriend, either. 🙂

I miss Schlotzsky’s. Sure, I love always having a Chipotle or Noodles & Company nearby, but we need a Schlotzsky’s somewhere in the metro area.

I always wear a helmet when watching the TV and I am sure Tessa would wear bells if I asked her to.
