Since we have all decided that November is a time of purging (including Kate learning to make soap. I suggested each bar should contain a single tear but I don’t think she is doing this), I am purging the unhealthiness out of my life.
I started going to the “wellness center” today with Half-Pint and Scrappy. Plus, Dixie Chick Jenny and I will be starting Phase I of South Beach in the morning. I am going to drink tomato juice against my better judgement.
Now, I know this is a lot of change at once but I am turning 35 in 10 days (AND YOU ARE ALL INVITED TO THE PARTY) and so yeah, gym and diet.
So, expect bitching on the blog here.
1:40 AM Edit: Oh yeah, there’s the soreness.

Good luck, Chip! I’m excited for you. 35 is fun. Dieting… not so much. But the gym is always good. Maybe I’ll start back too–in honor of your birthday. 😉
It’s funny–I’ve been feeling both the urge to purge junk out of my house & the urge to get back on the healthy wagon. But then I realized how insane this week is going to be (my dad gets here on Friday), and have pushed back healthiness until next week. (And yes, I totally know that I’m rationalizing…)
So are you going to go to South Beach? I’m kidding. Why don’t you start your diet the day after your birthday. In the meantime, you could still drink tomato juice if you want, but also you could eat at all the good restaurants and ice cream parlors one last time.
PS I’m younger than you.
PPS And good luck.
And another thing,
I like the new look of the site 🙂
Good luck! Am I the only one who has NO desire to diet or exercise? I’m putting off exercise until January with the excuse that I have no time what with dealing with the new house. And cooking for both myself and Alex puts me on enough of a diet. My dad’s lost 20 pounds so far on South Beach and says he has more energy than he’s ever had, so as diets go, that seems like a good one…
