Barney, a beloved black bear and favorite attraction at Bear Hollow Wildlife Trail since 1989, died Tuesday, stunning zoo workers.
“He’s one of the staples of the park,” said Mark McCoy, facility supervisor of Memorial Park, which oversees Bear Hollow.
“Everybody loved Barney,” said Karl Enter, a program specialist at Memorial Park. “A lot of people came out just to see Barney.”
