So, where was i?

I haven’t written in a while. Why? No reason, really. I always have things to blog and then something happens and I don’t get around to it. But, let’s see if I can hit the high points for the last few weeks.

Adrienne Shelley

As long time readers of the blog will know, I am a huge Hal Hartley fan and a fan of Adrienne Shelley. It appears she killed herself last week. Go out a rent Trust or # The Unbelievable Truth if you haven’t seen them.

Geeky Stuff
I have been spending an inordinate amount of time configuring computers for me, not work. I updated my MythTV at home after the ReplayTV in the bedroom stopped working for the hundredth time. So, I finally bought a Hauppauge PVR-350 encoder card and upgraded to a new version of KnoppMyth.

I can now record TV, have it scan for commercials, convert the file down to ipod video, and publish it on my server as an RSS feed, I can put into iTunes or Democracy Player or whatever. Now, if only I actually had a video ipod, this would be much more useful to me. 🙂

Also, I am trying to break myself from the world of Microsoft again. I have been running Ubuntu Linux on my work laptop for the past few weeks and I think I have been able to do pretty much everything I need. Plus, my machine is fast, it has not frozen, and I don’t have to worry about spyware and viruses.
