It seems that November 17, 2006 is the end of 96 Rock. Not that I really care, to be honest, since classic rock is nowhere near my thing.
The only time I actually remember listening to 96 Rock was November 25, 1984 when they broadcast the stereo sound of The Ewok Adventure while it was shown on network TV. I didn’t stick around afterwards.
First, happy birthday!
Second, I think the end of 96.1 might be a good thing. I was listening this morning and they had some shtick called “Bros before Hos,” which I gather was a call to arms of men against all women, who are deemed inferior and to be loathed and feared and therefore insulted. Classy *and* socially responsible. Nice. Or maybe what I heard this morning was the replacement station? God forfend!
