Forget Pepsi vs. Coke.
The only debate I need to have when it comes to the Cola Wars is whether to buy the 20 oz. Diet Dr Pepper, or whether I should just go for the 2 liter.
Dr Pepper (and now Diet Dr Pepper) has always been my beverage of choice. Since it is neither Coke nor Pepsi, there is always the chance that a restaurant will have it, even though there is a Coke or Pepsi sign out front. And you know what, Diet Dr Pepper tastes so much like Dr Pepper that there is no problem switching down to the low cal when one needs to.
But.
In Dublin, TX, you can still get Dr Pepper made with pure cane sugar! Probably tastes like the nectar of the gods. Field trip, anyone?
Lots of people around here think that Dr Pepper is a Pepsi product. It is currently owned by the Dr Pepper Snapple Group. 30% of Dr Pepper is bottled by Pepsi and 30% is bottled by Coke and the other 40% is bottled by different independent bottlers.
So, the point is, it’s OK to hate Pepsi and love Dr Pepper. No moral quandary here!
And how can you NOT want to be a Pepper too!
