It's amazing how far 139 rubles will go these days.

So, I am totally addicted to allofmp3.com. It’s a Russian website that sells MP3s for dirt cheap compared to iTunes. Is it legal? Who knows. This website claims that technically, I am buying the song in Russia (where the server is located) and then I am importing (downloading) it into America. How damn international.

For $5 (139 rubles) I was able to purchase:
the new U2 album (11 songs)
the best of the Cranberries (20 songs)
some Suzanne Vega (3 songs)
the “Pretty in Pink” soundtrack (10 songs)
Frente! (2 songs)
Crowded House (1 song)
Cowboy Junkies (12 songs)

That would have cost almost $60 on iTunes. And, I even could have gotten more if I had gotten a lesser quality of sound file. You can decide what quality and I went for practically CD quality. Much better than iTunes.

I need to research more and find out if I am screwing artists or just the RIAA.

And yes, I realize I am reliving high school with these musical choices.

Okay, that’s cool and all, but it begs the question: “Frente! Really? Why?”

    😉

You know I have a love for cute bubbly poppy girls who cover New Order!

Is the Crowded House song “Hey Now”? I love that one and am glad to hear it playing for whatever reason on the radio again. Sounds like a good deal, but rubles just aren’t worth what they used to be to us. I remember when it was 2000 rubles to the dollar. Ah, the days when Russians were mean to me.

The next time you need some high school music, just let me know. I’d have let you burn all that PLUS thrown in the soundtrack to Better Off Dead for, like, 97 rubles. Tops.
