I hate the new Gmail interface with the Chat built in. I have no need for that. And when I scroll over someone’s name, it gives me a popup I also have no need for. But, I actually used some of that tech savvy of mine and noticed at the bottom of the page (well, a forum told me to look there) this:
I turned it off and I am a happy gmailer again.
This is my Valentine’s gift to you.
I love the chat. but I’m glad to know that I can turn it off if I need to.
You are my personal savior for that little piece of information.
Thank you for that gift.
I didn’t need it yesterday (or even this morning), as I didn’t have the obnoxious chat thingy enabled.
After a log-out and log-in after reboot this afternoon, I did, in fact, have that awful thingy and I knew exactly how to turn it off, thanks to you. Woo!
NO ONE needs to see a little green light next to me, when I’m on the ‘puter. NONEYAZ business!
Thanks, Chip!
