I just got a fortune reading “Remember three months from this date. Good things are in store for you.” I have added March 7, 2007 to my Google Calendar, so we will see what happens. Technically, I received two fortunes. The other reads “The respect of influential people will soon be yours”. Respect or good things? Give me the good things!
Speaking of good things, Baby Spice’s cover of “Life in Mono” is NOT ONE OF THEM. I was very excited about it when I saw it because:
1. I have been known to listen to the Spice Girls.
2. This is a really good song. (In fact, it may be one of the few good things about the “Great Expectations” movie from several years ago.
It sounds exactly like the original except that it just isn’t as good.
I bought the new Nellie McKay album this weekend and haven’t really given it a chance yet. My initial reaction was , “Oh, it sounds just like the first one.” But, I might end up liking it. We’ll see.
