Good Show: The Brunettes

I went to see the Brunettes play on Wednesday at Tasty World and they were great. I was very wiffly-waffly on going because the show didn’t start until 12:30 and it was a school night. I went to dinner first with Scrappy, the Strombot, and the Strombot’s Gentleman Friend at downtown DePalma’s.

They served us our drinks out of those waxy paper cups in order to save water by having to wash less dishes. All the wine came in glassware and we all had several plates throughout the evening but any step is a step in the right direction. For those of you out of town, we are in major drought mode down here. I am thinking about giving up showers but others have expressed that this is not an actual good idea.

After dinner, we went to the Globe for a little while and then by about 10:30 we left downtown. I attempted the “disco nap” after I got home, which turned out to be moderately successful. No one else really wanted to see a 12:30 show but I decided to suck it up and go anyway because:

Favorite Band + 6 bucks + 5 minute drive = No Real Reason Not To Go Other Than Sleepiness

I got there and the crowd was kind of sparse but that was good since it was easy to get a good spot. By time the show started it was a nice size crowd for a Wednesday night. I discovered one thing about myself. After watching “Flight of the Conchords“, I find New Zealand accents extremely humorous so I enjoyed it that much more when Heather introduced herself as “Heether, or Hehther, depending where you are from”. Totally reminded of the Brett/Britt jokes from the show.

They are coming back in the spring, so there is no reason that you shouldn’t be there.

I took some pictures and put them up on the flickr. Check them out by making the click on the picture!
