The Right Cables Make All The Difference

Fry's Trip    Man. It’s cold outside. It was my first day back at work since we got out for Christmas. I left in a hurry and only had on a light jacket and I was pretty miserable. I will do better tomorrow.

To celebrate going back to work, Jacob, Brian and I took a trip to Fry’s Electronics by Gwinette Place to buy some stuff for school.  I bought for myself a Mini-DVI to DVI adapter as well as a DVI to HDMI adapter which now lets us go all digital between the Macbooks and the new 46″ TV in the living room.

Scrappy and I are watching the Doctor Who Christmas special right now and it looks awesome.  We watched some of the HD trailers via Front Row and they looked great. This is the first time that I have been happy with video from the computer on the TV.  We are tempted to some day scrap cable all together and just watch stuff downloaded from the interweb. Since the rumors are out there that iTunes is about to get movie rentals, it may be time to invest in a Mac Mini for the living room.  I’ll wait to see what Mac World brings.

Brian, Jacob, and I had lunch at Fuddrucker’s. I’m not sad that the one in Athens is closed.

Oh yeah, Gawker now has a sci-fi blog which is pretty great. Check it out: io9
