Brunch: Week 2

This whole brunch club thing could prove to be dangerous. You can see pictures of it over on Jocelyn’s blog. The announcement of my engagement and the pictures on her blog are mere rumors on the internets.

I left my house at 11:45 and didn’t get back home until 7:45. Of course, three of those hours were spent seeing “The Aviator”.

I am supposed to cook dinner tonight for people. If anyone wants to come, let me know and then show up at 7:00. But, let me know before 5 so I can get enough food at the Kroger’s (every grocery store must end in ‘s. It’s just a rule).

Where were you?

Sam and I were watching a rerun of the Bachelorette on E! last night. They cut into show with BREAKING NEWS. Brad and Jennifer had split. Now maybe you can understand the place I was in when I ended up going to Ga. Theatre and Nowhere Bar. I was still having a hard time coping with news.

How will I ever love again knowing that this can happen?

2005 sucks.

Did it freeze over?

Yeah, so, I went to the Georgia Theatre and Nowhere Bar last night. I didn’t die or anything. But, I realize what I haven’t been missing so I will check again around 2014 or see if it has changed. Then I went to Room 13 and saw Carter and Madie and Nelle and Jenna and people that I like and had drinks with Shawn and Kate and it was all better.

Kent and Cason

Pre-Friday

After work, Kent and I walked the trail in Memorial Park. Then I had dinner with Stephanie at Zim’s. Then she and Kate watched “Lost” with me and then Kate and I watched “Alias”. More Felicity love from Alias.

I am paying bills and listening to Matthew Sweet. Screw new music. There was plenty of music made between 1983 and 1993 which can keep me happy.

Question for the comments: If you had to choose one 10-year period for your media pool (music, movies, TV, etc.) which would you choose? You could only listen and watch stuff from those 10 years but you would have a complete catalog of published music, TV, and movies. Discuss.

Stuff

Tinsley was talking to Flivver at the Help Desk yesterday and she came to the realization that you go to school, then go to work, and never get to sleep in. It’s rough when you watch the reality of life hit a 17-year old.

Some kids were sending around one of those chain drunk driving poems where it turns out that it is written by someone who has already DIED (oooo scary). One of the students wrote back in a comment complaining about it: “The poem is bad. Just because you’re against drunk driving doesn’t mean you should be in favor of drunk writing.” I found that amusing.

Kate came over last night and we watched TV. Very exciting.

10 Years

Yesterday, or maybe Sunday, was the 10 Year Anniversary of my starting at work (as an employee). To celebrate, I spent the entire day solving email related problems. It was pretty exhausting. Today should prove to be equally exhausting. Awesome.

Brad, Jocelyn, and I went to Hannah’s house for dinner last night and then I came home and fell asleep. How do I afford my rock and roll lifestyle?

From the beeb: BBC NEWS | UK | Magazine | 100 things we didn’t know this time last year

If anyone is so inclined, I would be interested in reading things that YOU didn’t know this time last year. Comment away, SVP.

EDIT: Now comments are actually on. Thanks, Jocelyn!
