I amuse myself. I have just finished hearing the Pixies'”Monkey Gone To Heaven”and Peter Gabriel’s “Shock The Monkey”is on now. All Monkey. All The Time. I am waiting for Susan. I told Susan that I think none of our projects should take more than about 24-36 hours. I mentioned to her in the car last night about my all monkey CD and I am almost done with it. All I have to do is download some odd monkey picture and write some liner notes.
I could NOT get that damn proxy working. I came home but have vowed to return tomorrow.
What monkey is next???

Susan just came over. Kate’s dad and Jennifer’s dad are in all sorts of trouble for some school board stuff. It had to be people we knew, eh?

“”Never Trust A Monkey : Over One Hour of Pure Monkey Madness” is shaping up nicely. I wish my burner worked. Amanda H. (AA kid) and I ordered pizza for lunch today. I ate it between all my computer madness. The only thing I have done today that worked was installing Dreamweaver 3 on Vicky’s machine.
I need to write tom re: southernbooks. remind me.
I also need to put the Cisco stuff on the laptop.
I am thinking about doing an all monkey show on Spartan Radio.

hey all–
last night was fun. hung out with susan and wade and discussed our future plans for Athens. More later. Went home. Fell fast asleep and woke up at about 1:00. Amanda called. Talked to her for a while then loaded Napster onto Theresa Laptop-Fitzgerald and downloaded a bunch of monkey songs. More on that later also. I am at work. I am in the Year 2000. I am about to re-install Windows 3.11 on a client. Arrrgh. But at the same time we’re about to order the wireless access points for our new wireless laptop network. What a nice transitional period I am in.
Madeline told me I wasn’t cool.

Gonna hang with Susan and watch some TV tonight! Fun.

Well, I am still at work. We had a little trouble with the placement of the central cabinet so we had to move it at the last minute. Luckily, there was enough slack in the cabling and we hadn’t run the fiber yet. I guess I should get out of here and get over to my Moms for the pic. Apparently, I can’t where my blue sweater I have on because she is wearing black. Whatever. Then I am off to dinner with my bestest friend Susan and maybe Platonic Friend Wade. Somewhere on the East Side.GASP!

The fight goes on. Many other problems have come up since I started this day. Most are of the sucky computer nature. Some are of the hungry nature. And I just don’t feel “pretty” for the church picture. I have nothing to say to you people.

Why must computers be so difficult? Andy and Trevor make coffee sound so good. I wish someone would bring me some. Hello? Anyone? I am continuing my fight with the proxy and new modem. I will be triumphant. Oh yes, I will.

I’ve already had quite the long day. I woke up at 4:00 stressing out that I had lost a pretty important check from some computer work I had done. I am SOOO broke right now. I have about 5 bucks in the bank. Anyway. I tore my house apart and then it occured to me that it could be in my office. I drove out to school and it was in my backpack. While I was there I decided to go ahead and install the new network card in the proxy. I started working on the new config and realized it was 6:30. I left to deposit the check and drop off a check for sister Lori and have now just gotten home. Now I have to shower and go back to work. And the damn church picture is today. But, that check in itself only solves my immediate financial troubles. As in this mornings check to Lori. She lent me money Monday night to get that whole power thing worked out.
I think I am going to close out my savings account today which should get me food money until I get paid on the 25th. The funny thing is that once Wendy moves in and I get a few freelance gigs, I’m going to be back to my rolling in the dough days. How does this happen? Shut up, Susan.

Stephanie just left. Dinner at AL was good. It was pretty packed tonight and we had to wait for a table for the first time. The Stipester was there. We came back here to watch TV and for me to show the gals how to upload pics to the journal. I’m catching up on my Passions right now. I have know officiallly missed 4 episodes since the show began. I’m sleepy.

home from the grind. spent WAY too long making one damn crossover cable today. the one mike gave me was apparently not what the cable modem needed. but i got it working after I made one and downloaded winamp to my new laptop at 100K so I was pretty happy. I went down to the radio station after school to see what was up down there. It’s wednesday so that means Katie. I have promised her Wednesday afternoon for the next three years if she agreed to be a DJ the whole time. Tomorrow AM is Shae and Katie and that is a good listen.
Spartan Radio is pretty much a radio station staffed by 14 and 15 year old girls. There are other people but none with a shift right now. We are a little Lilith-centric right now but those things will change given time.
I met my Mom’s boyfriend today. I described him to Susan as a mix between Billy Bob Thornton and Anthony Edwards. It might just have been the beard.
I am starving. Stephie has not gotten here yet and I really want some Agua Linda.
No word from the girls on the road. Susan and I think I should go to San Francisco for a few months and study up and then when I run for Mayor in a few years, I can turn Athens into the cybermecca that it truly needs to be.

I am sitting in the chipcube at work enjoying a bacon and fried egg sandwich from the Jesus Biscuit (or Bread Basket to the uninitiated). Allison got back to Grady about 3 or so. I don’t actually remember what time. But she was very happy because she managed to hug the guy she liked instead of the idiotic “Hand Shake Incident” of last Friday. Congrats!
I just read new stuff on the journals and I realize that my Y2K Journals might be my favorite website EVER. Where else can I browse to every day to check out what all my friends are doing. The whole phone message into the computer thing sounded really crappy last night so I did not use it. I have spent the day shadowing the network installers and fighting with the damn cable modem here. I can’t get it to send packets to my hub. I’m using a crossover cable but that does not seem to do it. Erik the Intern spent 30 mins making me a new one but he quit in frustration. I hate making cables also. Aren’t there people out there for that kind of stuff??
Tonight I have a dinner meeting with CLD re: the Stephanie Get Out of Town Party (just kidding Tefne!) and then I’m going to play with my new laptop. No name yet because it is a pure work machine but I guess I need one. Willow? Theresa Laptop-Fitzgerald? We’ll have to see.
Well, my sandwich is done and so must I be.
