The Green Room Project is

The Green Room Project is coming along. I have actually managed to unpack a box of books and place them in the proper location in the house. This current box was cookbooks which I hope to actually use at some point as part of Chip2K. My mom just called and I have to go get a church picture taken on Thursday at 6:40. Is that funny to anyone but me? Well, it was actually funny to Kate who is stinking up my clean kitchen with stained glass. Tom Payton called and wants to meet Tuesday night to talk about the southern books website that he has been thinking about. It should be a pretty neat project. I’ll put a link to my working copy when it gets a little closer to a final version.
I went through Courtney’s site today and she gave me the idea to put a calendar on the Year 2000 site of all the important events in our lives. I’ll get on that. Amy has been calling. She got a crossover cable but that has not made anything start working. Hmmm.
Wendy has not been posting. I am mad at her. Jane should be also.

The networking of Amy and

The networking of Amy and Andy’s house came to a standstill when I forgot to bring a crossover cable with me, Oh well. We got the new computer set up and I set up logs for Amy and Andy. Alex cooked chili and Amy got mad at us and would not give us dessert until I threatened to not work on her computers. She is picking up a cable today and I might try and head over there before I go to Sticky Wickets at 3:00. I’m skippng out on lunch with the fam today. Bennegin‘s did not appeal to me.

Magnolia is a very long

Magnolia is a very long movie, It’s a good movie. I won’t go into more detail here because lots of people have not yet seen it. Maybe I’ll talk about it in a week or so. Remind me. Jane started feeling a little bit ill so we took her back to Wendy’s. Wendy and Kate are going to Squat and I am finally getting over to Amy and Andy’s to get their computers networked. Maybe we’ll get some blog action going from over there.

Well, we are waiting for

Well, we are waiting for Wendy and Jane. Not really sure where the heck they are because it’s like an hour since they were supposed to be here. In the meantime, I’ll show you some more pics I found in the Green Room:

Remember when the Budwine flowed like water?

And we all thought that this group would be the kind and benevolent leaders of the Y2K World.

And many things used to amuse me. Such as sitting on boards in trees and meeting Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry.

Today I watched that show

Today I watched that show Relic Hunter. I had forgotten that I told the replay to nab it for me and it found it at 2:35 AM on WSB. It is a very bad version of Indiana Jones starring Tia Carrere. This one had them looking for a magical baseball glove where she used her arcane eqyptian knowledge and her encyclopedic Red Sox knowledge to find the glove under Fenway Park. Throw in her getting undressed and a wacky German villain and this made it the best show I have seen since I went to bed last night!
Tara, Jane, Kate, Wendy and I are supposed to go to get BBQ today at Zeb’s. I also need to figure out how to get my damn carseats back up. They have been stuck down since the Year 1999.

Kate just left. We've spent

Kate just left. We’ve spent the past two hours discussing what people our age and of our social group are supposed to be doing in Athens in the year 2000. The answer: we have no idea. We’re not band people. We’re not cool art people. We are not brought together by any common goal or interest as much as we have been thrown together by the fact that we were all born in Athens in the 1970’s and have decided to stay here for whatever reasons. She wants new blood in the crowd like I do.
After work I went to the Manhattan again. This time with Charles, Allison, Kay, Susan, Sara and Sean. Then we went to dinner at Normaltown where I saw tons of peeps: Cash, John, and Libby Morris, Tom Payton and Patrick Allen of Hill Street Press and students Rachel, Collen, Jared and Alice. I also saw Joanna that I met on Christmas at Stevie’s house.

One of my plans this

One of my plans this year is to hang out with more and/or different people. I am not off to a very good start by seeing Kate and Wendy everyday but life is just a work in progress. Dinner with the girls was fun. We went to Bisset’s and Jane, Wendy, Kate all got appetizers for their meal but Tara went right for the Carpetbaggers Steak and raw oysters. I like that in a girl. The waiter was extremely smitten with Jane but how could he not be? I even asked her to marry me last night. But, I think that Tara and I may be going to Vegas for a drive-thru wedding in the coming months. You’ll hear it here first.
We went to Manhattan afterwards and Wendy talked on her phone for a very long time abd her friend Trey showed up. He might keep a journal for us. Not *quite* as flamboyant as Jack on Will and Grace but a close second. We had several rounds there and we bought wasabi peas because we couldn’t get Jane peanuts there. The girl likes peanuts.
Tara hates computers. For a girl who makes spy equipment, you would think she would be on email, ya know. I’ll have to work on her. Wendy and I might start hosting a Sunday afternoon “extravagent brunch” after she moves in at Tara’s request.
I feel dizzy. I better go.
