I’m at home typing on Buffy the Laptop waiting to go out with Tara, Jane, Wendy and Kate. Dama is over here playing on one of the other computers (Blossom actually). I’m listening to a tape of Katie’s shift from Spartan Radio. dama thinks we should broadcast all over town. Kate does not seem to like the music choices very much.
I have nothing interesting to say here.
I drove to work this morning and was running a little late as per usual. When I got into the parking lot I saw the cute teacher that I had always wondered who she was struggling carrying a box. So, Mr. Suave that I am I walk up to her and ask if she needs any help. She says that she would love some so I reach down to pick up the box which I soon learn is filled with a bag of plaster. I start carrying this thing and it is about the heaviest thing I have ever carried in my entire life. She introduces herself as Rachel and we talk and I am about to drop this thing so finally I realize that there is no way I am going to get this up there with my ankle and so I set it down, give up all signs of coolness and pull the teacher card on two kids and tell them to carry this for her. So much for being cool.
I just heard that Apple is partnering with Earthlink/Mindspring in the area of 200 million dollars. I didn’t buy that Mindspring stock, why?
Just got in from an amusing night out on the town. I went to the Grit with Kate, Sara, Susan, and Sean. I have not written much about Sean. He is Susan’s new boyfriend who apparently has been programmed by her to say things I will like. We talked about comics, the upcoming X-Men and Matrix sequel movies, and he even mentioned Smatthew from my favorite Newsradiop epidode. BTW, it stands for Smart Matthew..
We went to the Lunch Paper and I ended up meeting Wendy’s friend Jane who I have to say I like a lot. Not many girls will talk about computers with me in a bar. Wendy’s friend Bug was there who is really impressed by girls who can twist cherry stems into knots. I bought Jane peanuts because apparently she really likes them. Wendy was hungry so I brought her home and gave her some leftovers. Wendy and Jane are going on a road trip and Kate and I might meet them in New Orleans next weekend. I need to create Jane a log on here. She says she will write it. I called Diego about borrowing a laptop for their trip.
We are all going out to Harry Bisset’s tomorrow night so Jane can see Tara who she has not seen since sixth grade.
I guess I should go to bed now.
Wendy is moving in February first.
Oh! Happy 21st birthday to Paul Jarret who I saw downtown a number of times tonight.
We met with Intermedia today and that went well. We should finally have some higher speed access on campus and some more IPs for me to play with. This means Spartan Radio Online could be up within a few weeks. Belle and Sebastian is playing on SR right now. Don’t you wish you could hear it? I hope Kate and Wendy got to the airport alright. Tina called and she has set up her blog. And Carter and Madie Adams have caught the blogger bug hopefully. Mad is working on a comic for Athenstown so that should be cool.
I notice from email that Dama and Courtney have called me at home. I guess I’ll call them back now. I really don’t feel well and kind of want to go home.

They brought me two magazines, both sci-fi. Pretty good choices. I might have gone with an odder choice such as Jump or Sugar trying to surprise me with the whole girl-mag thing. Watched the end of Passions and put the sound of Julian Crane on the voice mail. It will probably amuse people. Kate and Wendy are going to pick up Jane tomorrow. She is Wendy’s red-headed australian friend.
My cousin Mark is going to lend me a portable DAT so I can get the Beef People online. I am talking to this girl online that I met a few weeks ago named Dawn. I am attempting to help her get a digital camera set up via IMs. It’s kind of hard. She wanted me to call her to help, but I don’t like calling strangers. Chatting online is one thing, talking off-line is entirely another, you know? I know a lot of people meet their significant others online and it seems natural that that would be something that I would end up doing but I just don’t see it happening. Of the three people I have met in real life, they have all been kind of…. freaky to say the least.
Maybe Wendy will bring home cute raver girls or whatever they are called these days. That would be more fun than online people.
And far more glittery.
Got the cables. Amy got her computer. Kate posted to her ‘blog. Had dinner with Courtney and Stephanie. Watched Martin Fitzgerald die on Passions. Still wondering if Wendy is going to actually move in. I feel like literary devices almost apply to my life now. That Wendy cleaning out the Green Room was forshadowing to her moving in. As we all write things down it seems like there are common themes developing. We can compare Kate and Wendy’s living with their parents. We will be able to contrast Stephanie’s move to San Francisco to Courtney’s move to Arkansas. That is if we keep keeping the journals.
I am not waxing as philosophic as Kate and Wendy in here but I bet that comes out pretty soon. Just wait until I start hating somebody or start getting a crush on somebody. Then it will all start pouring out.
I gave C and S ten dollars to buy me something at Barnes and Noble. I wonder what it will be.
The meeting went very well. There is a good group of kids who are involved and it has the potential to be a Very Cool Thing. We have the meeting in the AM with Intermedia and at that point I will know how far off internet streaming of our station is. You will hear it here in the Y2K, I promise you.
I’m about to go track down Amy about GC and then Stephanie about Agua Linda so I gotta scoot outta here. I can not believe that I am anxious to go home and sort through the Green Room some more!
Today should be a good day. I was supposed to oversee a fiber install at work but they stuff has not come in. So, I have various things to write and install and configure and all that kind of junk. After work, I am going with Amy I. to pick up her computer from Sharon at GC who should have some cables for me. Then I have a date with Stephanie and very maybe Courtney. I have that radio meeting this afternoon with the kids. I wonder what Wendy has decided.
Funny how life works. If you are reading Wendy’s blog then you know that her parents gave her the boot about an hour or so ago. She has been living at home for a while since she is doing temp work in Atlanta. Well, they have decided that she can start paying rent there or start paying it somewhere else. And what have Wendy and I been doing for days? Cleaning out that spare room in Grady wondering what to do with it. Green Room. Wendy needs a place. Hmmm….
We just talked on the phone for a while and I invited her to make the move to Grady Ave and she is gonna sleep on it and let me know. I offered her a pretty good deal with the condition that she would keep the kitchen clean for me (and bathroom also, willow, we didn’t cover that in our talk) and that she would help me with my freelance web stuff if I need it (and if I teach her how).
Of course, this means that Kate’s Craft Corner is probably going to have to move up to the landing because I doubt that Wendy will allow that in *her* kitchen.
OK. I really gotta get to bed now.
