We all have the little

We all have the little Poloroid I-Zone cameras (the sticker ones). The house is filled with tiny pics. They are blurry when blown up, but hey, it’s fun! This is a group shot from last night.

It’s Joe, Sara, Shelley, Trevor, Susan, Kate, Paul, Cash, Hannah, Monica, Courtney.

Sara, Susan, Amy, Andy and

Sara, Susan, Amy, Andy and I went to the new Starbuck’s downtown. Andy objected for political reasons (he’s friends with Espresso Royale) but we went anyway. Amy and I discussed plans for our 30th birthday party this November and we are working on finding someone to head a planning committee. We are also going to work on a list of 5 of our crazy ideas that we want to pan out in the Y2K.
It occurs to me that I have lost many bets now that it is the Year 2000. I will mention them here as people begin to collect on them. It also occurs to me that I should be engaged to Lori C. now because the deal was that if Alex didn’t come through by the Year 2000 then we were going to get engaged for a November wedding.
That will mesh well with the 30th birthday party!

We're having trouble with the

We’re having trouble with the NEGIA connection to school. It was working an our ago because I telnetted in just fine and everything was hunky *and* dory. But Mark called me a few minutes ago when he was out there and asked me to try it while he was on the phone and of course it didn’t work. We have so many problems with that connection, who knows?
Well, Mark turned the modem off and back on and that seems to have fixed it for now.
Ah, the simple things…

The world is still here.

The world is still here. Trevor and Shelley just left signaling the end of my Y2K party. Lots of people came. We watched fireworks from the roof which was nice. There will be MANY pictures posted soon and I promise that many more journals will come online in the coming weeks. Allison B gave me an R2-D2 watch and a Darth Maul soap dispenser. This will go nicely with the Yoda soap in the bathroom.

Good night.

Well, we are back from

Well, we are back from KMart where we did some last Y2K shopping. We bought glitter makeup and any type of food or drink that seemed futuristic to us. We have some Capri Sun because it comes in foil and some sort of glittery fruit roll up. I would like everyone to look like Daryl Hannah from Blade Runner but I kind of doubt that will happen.
Wendy, Kate and Allison B. are out on the town and should be coming over soon. Sara is here getting ready. We seem to end up together most New Year’s Eves (though it’s all platonic) and I don’t see how this one should be different.
Cash and Paul stopped by and then took off again.
Tina is having her own party.
Courtney and Joe are on their way and Steph and Alex are holed up in the mountains.
I am pretty convinced that nothing is going to happen but it would be pretty cool if something happened, you know?

Arthur C. Clarke is explaining

Arthur C. Clarke is explaining to the world that it is not the millenium. I love him. He calmly points out that there was no year 0. There ya go. Now, I am all about celebrating the Year 2000, but come on, DO THE MATH!

Susan and Michelle and I

Susan and Michelle and I are watching the TV coverage of the Millenium opening in London. They say it is 5 minutes until the New Year in New Delhi. Woo hoo! Party out of bounds. I also heard that London is claiming Y2K problems with their banque machines. That just sounds like a bunch of crazy talk to me since it is still 1999!

I have been fighting the

I have been fighting the millenium thing for as long as I can. I have been kicking and screaming for months about how the millenium ends next year. But you know what, screw it. If the rest of the world is going to celebrate the big zero date then I want to to . Sadly, I have only given myself one day to do this.
My last day of the willenium will be spent in the following way.
1. The Last Breakfast of the Millenium with Susan and Amy. Zim’s. 9:15.
2. The Last Coffee of the Millenium with Trevor. Jittery Joe’s. 11:00.
3. A Very Special Passions. 2:00. NBC.
4. The Millenial Cleaning of my House
5. Chip’s Y2K Party.

I am sure much discussion today will be devoted to the fact that we are all a little depressed that the world isn’t as futuristic as we would like for it to be. Sure, I watched TV off of my ReplayTV this morning and I am listening to Time Of Your Life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warren streaming at my over my cable modem but is that really the future?

Where are the bubble cars, man?

Where is the all-knowing little boy or triumverant of white haired old men in unitards who command us all?

This is all just a little depressing for me. Trevor is going to look for a silver jumpsuit to wear tonight. I think he may have the best idea of us all.
