Well, it certainly hurts more

Well, it certainly hurts more without the big cast. I wasn.t actually counting on that. Todat y Mom starts back to school so I will be alone at home. Steph has lunch duty today, Sara tomorrow, Courtney Thursday.

I made it through the night without the ghost dog getting me.

Susan called last niight from Nova Scotia. She probably thinks the column is about her.

For those of you checking up on me, Mom has been gone for an hour and there have been no major accidents. I’m having a loud rock&roll party but we’ll get it all cleaned up. I have even gotten out of bed TWICE by myself. I feel like such a big boy. I might have to go out for a jog later. Or put on the Moon Shoes, Kate is always talking about.

My grandmother just came by to check on me and to bring me banannas and cheese chex mix and to be sure that I had not fallen and could not get up. I have been talking on the phone, chatting on AIM, and looking up stuff for people on the web. My Georgia Lee from Zim’s should be here about noon, Yummy!

“I still don’t know what it is and I ate it”, said Stephanie.

The afternoon hqas been filled with joy and excitement. Kate and Steph and I watched Passions. Theresa dressed up as this ugly duckling so Ethan wouldn’t recognize her. Poor Theresa. Grandparents and my grandmother’s aunt and uncle showed up bearing banana pudding. Yummers. Rachel, the fake daughter of Holly and myself, came over for a visit on her way to the gym. She has decided to come back to the Academy next year which I think is a good thing.

Technically, I have spent the afternoon figuring out how DNS records work by registering the name chippernet.net and using the Public DNS Server. I’m going to use this for my home computers since it is such a pain to use the Athenstown name for home stuff since we moved to Interland.

Cash and I may work on Samba a bit or i might actually try and go to sleep at a normal hour. But who knows what the rest of the day may hold…

It holds pain. I made the mistake of saying I would eat the kitchen table. We ate Varsity which kind of made me feel ill anyway plus the leg being down all contributed to me popping a couple of pills and waiting for them to kick in.

The big excitement for today

The big excitement for today is the fact that in a few short hours, I will actually be leaving the computer and the house for what could be hours. I know I am getting my stitches out and I am hoping that I get the aircast also but the Doctor is out of town, so we’ll see. Stay tuned to this page for details.

As I sitr here waiting anxiously to go outside, I realize we need a chat room where all of us can meet in and hang out in throghut my recovery. That can be today’s post-Passions project.

Well, I am back from the evil hot outside world. I got the big heavy monstrosity off my leg. Now I have a really big sock with some velco and plastic around it. I have to go back in a few weeks to see the doc though cause he was on vacation. I was told that for a fractue as bad as mine that the healing was going very well. I get to play little foot exercise games now! I guess I won’t be needing this computer anymore!

Sara is going to come visit with me to be my Passions buddy for the day. She is bringing Taco Stand. Yummy. While we were gone to the doctor we saw Frank from the Academy picking up the mail and I remembered that at some point, I will actually have to go back to work and end the days of telecommuting (which have been nice other than the actual leg problem.

Kate came and crocheted some more during the soap. Sara is back from Cali for a few weeks and invited me to a cookout in Madison on Friday. I don’t know if I will feel like going but we’ll see..

So this psychic is coming to Atlanta that charges 40 to 80 dollars for some sort of psychic show. My mom wants to go. During this conversation, Sara, Kate and I learned that there is a ghost dog in the house. Obviously, this bit of info has just shortened my stay here considerably.

As the day continued, my leg actually started to hurt pretty badly and I was reminded that there is just some pain that my little magic pills won’t take care of.

Cash came over to get Felicity (the linux box) working as a router/firewall/file server for the CyberSickRoom.

In fact, it is late and he is home but telnetted in so I need to go restart Blossom. I am now happy to report that the sickroom is safely tucked away and we can add a number of computers for guests. This is actually the inner workings of the cyberhouse I am working on as sooon as this leg gets better!

Good night.

Well, as of this morning,

Well, as of this morning, i have not been outside for an entire week. I know that many people probably do this sort of thing on a regular basis, but not me. I was always impressed with myself if I made it through the afternoon without going outside.

I spent the morning obsessively redesigning the site again and downloading 197 messages from my old chip at mindspring address. All but 6 were spam and those that weren’t were either meant for another chip, bills from mindspring, or a Dilbert newsletter. Someday I will have to let go of the Mindspring account but I still feel like keeping it if only because I am Customer # 52 out of some crazy big number now.

Charles and his lovely wife Allison stopped by after lunch to visit for a while. They have been up at Lake George in New York. Lori is in Hilton Head with Jeff. Susan and Wade are on their way up north. Hannah is in Chicago. Mom has gone to a movie. I remain happily in bed listening to Huey Lewis streaming off the web.

A screw fell out of one of my crutches on the way down the hallway. Coincedence? Perhaps. But, if something happens to me and it appears to be an accident, y’all just check and be sure Susan is really gone with Wade and not hiding out setting traps. We love each other and all of that but have been out to get one another ever since the Incident .

Kate and John are bringing me some supper and watching G vs E tonight. Gosh darn good show. I believe they are bringing me Grit.I have recently realized that I am looking for a roomie starting next month. Wanna live with me? $325 plus 1/2 utils in a cool house. If you provide the NIC, you get free net access plus your own athenstown.com email address. It’s a hard to beat deal!

So, while I sit here fretting about my leg and all of that Wendy sends me a link to the Deathclock. Yeah, that’ll keep my mind on getting better. It says I will die on August 29. 2044. I guess that gives me enough time to finish up some things.

Kate and John brought over some Grit Staple for me and we watched G vs.E and Movie Stars. Tomorrow I have a doctors appt. to get the staples out of my leg so I am pretty psyched. I forget to mention that Ali brought me a copy of The Truth About Fonzie ,a book by Peggy Herz.

I’ll let y’all know when I find out what it is.

I just chatted with Bonnie out in LA using AIM. She told me that her and Ethan Crane of Passions did a karaoke of Endless Love. If only that could have been Theresa….

The big news of the

The big news of the day is …. well…. OK, there is no big news. Nothing happens when you are stuck in bed all day. I did use the fancy-shmancy shower bench thingie which I highly recomend to those of you too tired to actually stand in the shower. Lori cooked us lunch and found out that my 10 year high school reunion is the same weekend as Tory’s wedding in Mystic. No real contest. Which do *you* think I should choose? Email me with your vote.

Cash came over and we chatted and watched “Sneakers”. Then Amanda came over. I remain in bed.

Mac the dog is spending the night and almost ate Cash when he came in. I did finally get Photoshop so that is cool.

The big news on Friday

The big news on Friday is the installation of digital cable. This is the closest to DirecTV that I could get over here. A boy can only go so long without ZDTV and BBCAmerica.

We are currently taking applications for those who get to “check on me” next week while Mom is off at school. The slots fill up fast so get yours in soon!

The day ended geekily with Ron and Cash and ZDTV.

Next week we will announce a special service called “Spend The Day in Bed With Chip”. Stay tuned.
