Happy Birthday Eastenders

Today is the 20th birthday of my fave rave English soap opera, Eastenders.

I started watching whenever I got DirecTV for the first time which was upstairs at my Grady Ave apartment. I think that was probably 1997 or 1998. Of course, the new episodes don’t come on American TV any longer since BBC America cancelled it. But, thanks to the interweb, I can keep up with the comings and goings of Albert Square in Walford.

How long have most American soap operas been running. 40 years? 50?

The only two American soap operas that I have really ever watched are “Passions” and “Santa Barbara”. Both very good in their own way, but the Brits win out.

Feel free to muse about your favorite soap opera moments in my comments. I’m sure :stephanie: has something to say about Santa Barbara and I would think that :courtney: might point out that it is a beloved show in Mother Russia.

60/40 is better than I thought it would be.

Your Brain is 60.00% Female, 40.00% Male

Your brain is a healthy mix of male and female

You are both sensitive and savvy

Rational and reasonable, you tend to keep level headed

But you also tend to wear your heart on your sleeve

It's pretty much his favorite animal.

New York Post Online Edition: news

Ligers – which have a mane like a lion and stripes like a tiger – are the result of a union between a lion dad and a tiger mom. They are unheard of in the wild, but occasionally happen when the two kinds of great cats wind up meeting in captivity. It is a rare occurrence because there seem to be few tigers and lions that hit it off romantically.

Run On Sentence

I’m about to have to go to work before the magic elves get here to clean my house but I decided about 5 minutes ago that what my house REALLY needs is one of those old photo booths where you sit in there with some girl and hope that maybe (just maybe) the fourth picture will be you smooching and so I decided to look on the ebay and found out that a LOT of people (apparently) want pictures of Hazel’s Shirley Booth.

Weird.

Question for Non-Spynotebookers

What do you use to track the visits to your websites? Do you just use the normal web server logs or do you use some service that tracks a graphic on your page or is there no cool stuff out there that I am unaware of?

Jump! Jump!

stereogum pointed out that Sony still has a Kriss Kross website.

Actual conversation I had this week:

Me: How was life in the barn last night?
Her: It was awesome! I got to buy my own groceries!
Me: Oh yeah? What did you buy?
Her: I bought lots of canned fish!
Me: Oh. That sounds… good?
Her: Sardines are awesome!
Me: Well, I’m glad you are having a good time.
Her: It will be even better when it is warm enough to turn on the water!

I think that :jocelyn: and Bitey may have had the best Valentine’s Day tooling around Miami in the Mustang.

Now it is time.

Drat. I skipped out on Coolio but there is no way that I can miss Bob Saget at the Georgia Theatre. It could only be better if it was… well, I can imagine no way better.
